How does Katu integrate with our SAP?
Katu connects natively with SAP using standard IDoc messaging. The bidirectional integration syncs material catalog, suppliers, Purchase Requisitions and POs. POs are issued in your organization's exact format. Typical implementation between 4 and 8 weeks depending on complexity.
What level of audit and traceability does the platform offer?
Every action is recorded with timestamp, user and origin. Bids are sealed until the process closes, at which point they are unlocked simultaneously. The audit trail is exportable and complies with internal and external audit standards. Hosting on AWS with ISO 27001 certification.
How many suppliers can participate in a process?
There is no limit. We have +2,000 suppliers onboarded and the system automatically invites all those who qualify based on product family, region and the buyer's policies (local SMEs, indigenous companies, etc.). In typical processes we receive between 4 and 12 bids.
How is confidentiality between bidders guaranteed?
All bids are submitted as sealed bids and remain encrypted until the process closes. Suppliers cannot see other suppliers' bids, nor does the system allow access to the Katu team during an active process. Evaluation criteria are defined exclusively by the client — Katu only recommends.
What is the cost and commercial model?
Annual subscription model for miners with a fee based on transaction volume. For suppliers, onboarding and participation in tenders is 100% free. Request a demo and our team will put together a tailored proposal.
Does Katu replace our ERP or coexist with it?
Katu coexists with your existing ERP and enhances it. It does not replace SAP, Oracle or Dynamics — it complements them with a competitive tendering and supplier development module that your ERP does not have. Purchase Requisitions and POs continue to be issued from your system.
What kind of ESG reporting do you provide?
Real-time dashboards of % spend with local, regional, SME and indigenous suppliers; number of processes closed under local quotas; estimated regional employment impact; and benchmarks against industry average. Monthly reports exportable to the board.
How much does it cost to onboard as a supplier?
Onboarding to Katu Market is 100% free. We don't charge for registration, for participating in tenders, or commission on awarded sales. The commercial model is on the mining buyer's side.
How long does the onboarding process take?
Initial registration takes between 10 and 15 minutes. Validation of commercial documents (tax ID, certificates, financial records) takes between 1 and 3 business days. Once validated, you start receiving invitations to processes relevant to your category and region.
How am I invited to participate in processes?
You receive automatic notifications by email and WhatsApp when a process opens in your category and region. You have access to the requirement details, deadline and required documentation. You can upload your sealed bid in approximately 10 minutes.
What happens if I don't win a process?
You receive automatic feedback with your relative position (without revealing specific bidders), gaps in deadlines or documentation, and recommendations to improve future participations. The Katu field team also offers free training workshops.
Do I need training to use the platform?
It's not mandatory. The platform was designed to be intuitive — uploading a bid takes less than 10 minutes. If you need support, we have video tutorials, WhatsApp support during business hours, and free in-person workshops in mining regions.
How are payments managed when I'm awarded a contract?
Once awarded, you receive the formal PO on the platform. Delivery and payment management is supported by the Katu team directly with the mining buyer. You have real-time visibility of your invoice status (received, validated, scheduled, paid).
I'm a small SME — can I really compete?
Yes, and in fact several processes are closed specifically to SMEs, local suppliers or indigenous companies. Major mining companies have active regional development policies and Katu is the channel to put them into action. 75% of our winning suppliers are SMEs.
